We are the union of the sugar mills of El Salvador. We are an industry of six sugar mills and seven thousand sugar cane producers, which produce approximately 800 thousand metric tons of sugar each year and export more than 500 thousand tons to the world. We are producers of bulk raw, standard white, brown and refined sugar, of molasses and alcohol. In addition, sugar mills generate electricity for their own consumption and the rest is sell to the national grid to meet 10%of the national supply. Cane producers and mills operate under an associative scheme regulated in the sugar agroindustry law, in which the net income generated by the sector is shared 56% for cane producers and 44% for the mills.
